These monumental buildings arose from the need of the catholic religion to built impressive temples to increase the status of the bishop in a diocese<\/b>. The boom of these constructions was since the XIII century, that\u2019s why most of the cathedrals that we can find in Europe have a gothic style.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Cathedral of Notre Dame in Paris<\/h2>\n

Notre Dame may be one of the most famous cathedrals of Europe, besides a symbol of the city of Paris<\/b>. In 1163 the first stone of this legendary building was put, and it would be under construction until 1245.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

During its eight centuries of life, it has seen important historic events. It has been reformed in several occasions, possibly being the most significant the addition of the needle in the XIX century.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The past April 15<\/b><\/span>th<\/b> of 2019<\/b> the cathedral suffered a massive fire<\/b> that took down the needle and provoke severe damage to the roof, resulting in a collapse. Even tough the reconstruction works have already started; they have been stopped to improve their safety measures.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

This is one of the most beautiful cathedrals of Europe. Located in the Piazza del Duomo, it goes back to the XIII century<\/b>. Is part of the beginnings of the artistic representations of the Italian Renascence. Despite that at the begging it was a gothic construction, soon it was covered by marble of different colors and with the classic Romain style always feature in the Renascence.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The dome of Filippo Brunelleschi is the most impressive feature of this construction<\/b>. It raises in the middle of the city of Florence with a height of 115 meters.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
