Introduction<\/h3>\n

OpenRoads Designer\u00a0is a comprehensive and fully functioned detailed design application for surveying, drainage, subsurface utilities, and roadway design that supersedes all capabilities previously delivered through InRoads, GEOPAK, MX, and PowerCivil.<\/p>\n

OpenRoads Designer\u00a0introduces a new comprehensive modeling environment to provide construction-driven engineering to help accelerate project delivery of road networks, unifying design and construction processes from concept to completion. The application provides complete detailed design capabilities for surveying, drainage, subsurface utilities, and roadway design.<\/p>\n

OpenRoads Designer\u00a0redefines best practices for the generating design and construction deliverables and ensures the exchange of data throughout the project delivery and asset lifecycle.<\/p>\n

The course will take the form of recorded tutorials which the student can take notes, followed by hands-on practical exercises in order to develop a comprehensive understanding of the OpenRoads Designer Connect Edition.<\/p>\n

Quizzes and exercises will also be available to ensure that the student has a good understandin of the topic, before moving on to the next module.

Objectives<\/h3>\n

This course will provide the delegate with the basics skills to work within the MicroStation environment .
\nThe course will ensure that the student has all the skills required to be able to create a highways model rich with embedded data.<\/p>\n

At the end of the course the student will be able to create a new model from first principles or amend a model created by somebody else.<\/p>\n

The skills taught will allow the student to :<\/p>\n

    \n
  • Navigate an existing model in the MicroStation environment<\/li>\n
  • Create and edit a terrain model, together with subsequent analysis of multiple terrain models to give cut\/fill balances and volumes of ponds etc<\/li>\n
  • Create a horizontal and vertical alignment, with reference to the existing terrain.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
