Introduction
Dr. Vimy Henderson has significant experience providing pavement and materials engineering to agencies and clients throughout North America. She is also an Adjunct Professor and Lecturer in Pavement and Materials Engineering and Infrastructure Management. Through this course she will share the fundamentals of pavement engineering and management.
This course will provide the participant with an understanding of the principles and considerations involved in evaluation, design, construction and management of pavements for local roads to large highways and entire agency networks.
The course material will include basic principles as well as project examples.
Objectives
The objective of the course is to provide the attendee with the principles used throughout the life cycle of pavement assets. This will include condition evaluation, design, construction and management. Upon completion of the course, you will have an understanding of pavement engineering and management.

Vimy Henderson
Dr. Vimy Henderson is a Principal Engineer at PTech Engineering Solutions Inc. and has more than 12 years of experience in consulting engineering. Dr. Henderson has a Bachelor’s degree and Ph.D. in Civil Engineering from the University of Waterloo. She has extensive experience in pavement and materials engineering, providing asset management, design, construction, project specification and research consulting to municipal, provincial and private owners for road, airport, rail and port authorities and design build teams. Her experience in lab testing and nondestructive data collection and analysis allow her to help clients understand the condition of their assets and make informed decisions for the future.
She is an Adjunct Professor at the University of Waterloo and a Sessional Lecturer at McMaster University in Pavement and Materials Engineering and Infrastructure Management.
